I’m Ravin’ About This Iron

This gorgeous jellyfish pendant is the work of metal artists – excuse me, Metal Maestros – Giselle and Tim, otherwise known as The Rave ‘n’ Iron. They take bits of scrap steel and create fabulous pieces of jewelry, as well as credit card/business card/cigarette cases.

Using a process of etching and fire, Giselle and Tim are inspired by nature and by the humble nature of their base materials. They feel that using scrap steel challenges the assumption that using valuable materials is what gives the jewelry value, preferring instead to assume that the beauty of the workmanship is the more important element. Each piece is hand made and unique. Oh, and I like their philosophy.

It was also interesting to get a small window on their techniques by watching one of their YouTube videos.
