Quickie Question: New Projects?
By TwistieSorry about yesterday, everyone. This is what I looked like then:
… only rather less glamorous.
I must admit that dripping as I am, I’m loathe to begin a new crafting project at the moment. And so I want to live vicariously through all of you.
So.
What are you working on now? What have you just taken up? What are you gathering materials and/or equipment for? Taking classes?
Cheer up a sick crafts maven and tell me what you’re up to!

I have a small stand of black bamboo and have harvested many culms. Culms, that’s what stems of bamboo are called.
First, I bought a bamboo saw. It works very nicely. Now there are two books about crafting and building with bamboo. Such beautiful stuff. I’m determined to work with it.

I’ve got two lap robes on the knitting needles, an embroidery/quilting project, and a crazy idea for knitted yoga socks that is percolating…
Craftsy is also allowing people to take on online class in quilting free- so I’m really excited about that!

Aewsome, Sarah R! That online quilting class sounds fun. And do let me know how the knitted yoga socks turn out. I find myself intrigued, even though I neither knit nor do yoga.

I’ve got an “easy” lace shawl from “Victorian Lace Today” on my needles. Easy, my eye! I’m not cut out for lace… I work on it sporadically, because a) I’m determined to finish it, but b) it drives me nuts. Also in the works: a “Pimpelliese” shawl (as seen on Ravelry). MUCH easier. Granny squares with my crafting group. Baby booties to crochet as a hostess gift for the – pregnant – hostess ouf our next meeting. Shadow-weave scarf on the loom. Musing on what to do with two largish boxes full of bottle caps. Vague thoughts of taking up needle-felting or cro-tatting.
My job and the dance course I teach do tend to get in the way of all that, though.

I’m into snuggly comfort right now. Just bought a piece of softsoftsoft cuddle fabric to make a shawl (my office is icey these days!). Strip sets are all cut and assembled for a tictactoe quilt to be pieced at a quilt retreat at the end of the month. If I can get it all put together, I’ll leave it to be quilted by another attendee there. Finished seven sets of fabric coasters for our school auction and have the pieces cut for a table runner as well. And with any luck I’ll have time to whip up another long-sleeved knit dress this Saturday!
